Top Up Insurance - Super Health XS Policy is an extra safety net that provides additional health insurance cover over and above any existing insurance available, brought to you by Citibank through Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company.
- The core benefits of this plan are similar to normal health insurance products i.e. hospitalisation and domiciliary expenses reimbursement.
- However, this plan comes in to effect in case the claim amount is large - exceeding a certain threshold limit, known as "Deductible"
- Deductible is the amount which will be compulsorily deducted from every claim/aggregate claim per annum under this product.
All your related expenses for up to 30 days before and up to 60 days after hospitalisation are reimbursed under Super Health XS Insurance. Please note that these expenses must be related to the condition for which you are hospitalised & the claim for hospitalisation is found admissible.
In this day and age of increasing medical expenses, you can effectively get full coverage by combining a regular health policy with a top up cover at significantly lower premium rates.
Cashless hospitalisation facility in more than 4,000 network hospitals.
Hospital Cash Benefit of Rs.2,000 per day subject to a maximum of 10 days (applicable in case Sum Insured is greater than or equal to Rs.5 Lakh).
Certain medical procedures do not call for long periods of hospitalisation. This plan shall pay for medical expenses for day care procedures (requiring less than 24-hours of hospitalisation) also.
Emergency ambulance charges, for transporting the patient to the hospital, up to a limit of Rs.1000 per admissible hospitalisation, will be reimbursed, upon producing bills in original.
Your Super Health XS policy can be renewed automatically every year through standing instructions for payments to be made with your Citibank Credit Card / Citibank Account.
You can avail of tax exemption up to Rs.25,000 Under Sec 80D on the premium paid by you towards Super Health XS InsurancePolicy . Premium paid on behalf of yourself, your spouse, your dependent children is exempt up to Rs.25,000. This is as per the current tax laws and is subject to change as per amendments made from time to time.

You can make a claim in two ways:
- Get admitted to a hospital that is part of the Super Health XS Insurance network, call the 24-hours toll free helpline (1800-345-33-22) and take an authorisation at least 72-hours in advance. Thus you can avail of Super Health XS Insurance Cashless hospitalisation benefit. Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company will settle the bills directly with the hospital. In case of an emergency hospitalisation, call Third Party Administrator within 48-hours after being admitted to take the authorisation.
- If you are admitted in any other hospital, send all your bills along with supporting documentation to Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company. You will be reimbursed, if the claim is found to be admissible as per the policy Terms and conditions.
- Should you wish to cancel your Top Up Insurance - Super Health XS Policy coverage, you can call 24-hours CitiPhone or write to Citibank.
- You can also contact Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company through the contact details mentioned in the attached brochure.
Any condition, ailment or injury or related condition(s) for which you had signs or symptoms, and / or were diagnosed, and / or received medical advice / treatment, within 48 months prior to your first policy with us would not be payable until 48 months of continuous coverage have elapsed, since inception of the first Super Health XS Insurance Policy with us.
- This plan, at inception, has a free look period of 15 days from the date of receipt of policy. On review of the policy Terms and conditions, If you are not satisfied with this plan, then you can cancel your plan within this 15 days free look period. You shall be eligible for a refund premium, after deducting applicable risk premium, less the cost of medical examination incurred by the Company and stamp duty charges, where applicable, provided your intimation of cancellation reach us within the free look period. Your policy documents will reach you within 15 days from the date of debit of your card / account.
- In case you cancel your coverage after the free look period, refund of premium shall be as per the short period rates mentioned in the policy.
- Citibank Customers & their family members.
- Persons between the age group of 91 days to 65 years.
- No Medical check up till the age of 60.
Family:
- Self, Spouse, Dependent Children aged from 91 days to 21 years of age.
- Tenure of the policy will be for 2 Years.
- Renewals are available for Life Long.

SECTION 41 OF THE INSURANCE ACT 1938 PROHIBITION OF REBATES
- No person shall allow or offer to allow, either directly or indirectly, as an inducement to any person to take out or renew or continue an Insurance in respect of any kind of risk relating to lives or property in India, any rebate of the whole or part of the commission payable or any rebate of the premium shown on the policy nor shall any person taking out or renewing or continuing a Policy accept any rebate, except such rebate as may be allowed in accordance with the published prospectus or tables of the Insurer.
- Any person making default in complying with the provisions of this section shall be liable for penalty which may extend to ten lakh rupees.
