There are several options available to you.
a. Standing Instruction: If you have a Citi Savings account, you can make the payment online by logging in to your online bank account with your User ID and Password. You can also set up a standing instruction to pay either minimum amount due or total amount due. It is an instruction given by you to Citi for debiting your Citi account and make payment to your Citi credit card. You can register a Standing instruction by logging to your online account or contacting our 24*7 CitiPhone Banking services. The final amount post adjustments will be debited on the payment due date, unless the due date falls on a day succeeding a Sunday or public holiday. Then the funds will be debited from the bank account a day prior to the payment due date and the card will be credited on the payment due date.
b. Account to Card Transfer: Alternatively, you can pay via the Citi Mobile App:
Step1: Login to your Citi mobile app by using your user ID and IPIN
Step2: Go to menu options
Step3: Select ‘Bill Pay & Recharge’
Step4: Select ‘Credit Card bill payment’
You may also simply click on your credit card from the account dashboard within the app & click on 'Make a Payment' optionc. IMPS: With the IMPS option, you can make your credit card bill payments 24X7 (including holidays) from any of your bank accounts. Payments initiated through IMPS will be credited to the card account instantly and will reflect in your statement by the end of the same business day. Make an online payment via IMPS in just 3 steps:
Step 1 – Login to your account with any bank
Step 2 – Add your 16 digit Credit Card number as payee. The IFSC Code for Credit Card Bill Payment is UTIB0000400.
Step 3 – Make the payment towards the card added via IMPS
TAT: Payments initiated through IMPS will be credited to the card account instantly and will reflect in your statement by the end of the same business day.
d. NEFT/RTGS (Recommended option for same day payments): You have the option to make an online payment from another bank account via NEFT/RTGS, where you can add your Citi credit card as an NEFT payee in your non-Citi account in three simple steps:
Step 1 – Login to your non-Citi account and click on NEFT fund transfer
Step 2 – Add your Citi credit card as payee for fund transfer
Step 3 – Make the payment, towards the card added via NEFT

i. NEFT: Payments initiated by customers through NEFT will be credited to the card account instantly and will reflect in his statement by end of the same business day (if done before 5.30 pm on a working day). NEFT is available 24 X 7 (including holidays) and this payment can be done from any of your bank accounts. Customer’s credit line will be increased to the extent of payment received instantly.
ii. RTGS: Credit card payments for Rs.2,00,000 and above can be made through RTGS. Payments initiated by customers through RTGS will be credited to the card account instantly and will reflect in the card statement by end of the same business day. RTGS is available 24 X 7 (including holidays). Customer’s credit line will instantly be increased to the extent of payment received instantly.
Please use the following details while doing a payee addition:
e. EPay via Bill Desk: You can also choose to pay via Epay, which normally takes 2 working days, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, to be credited into your account depending on the time taken by your bank to process the payment. You can pay from over 48 major banks including SBI, ICICI, HDFC, Axis and many more. You no longer have to make trips to the drop boxes or wait in queues. All you need to do is visit www.citibank.com/india, choose 'E-Pay' and follow the instructions. You must have your Internet Banking details like User ID and Password for your Non-Citi account.
f. ACH/ECS: Your funds are transferred from your account with other bank through a facility called the ACH (Automated Clearing House, earlier referred as ECS). You are required to provide a signed mandate to Citi authorizing the transfer of funds from your account with other bank. The ACH mandate can be downloaded here.
g. Other Bank Websites: Citi Credit Card has been added as Utility Biller with other banks. This option allows you to pay when you login to Online Banking platform of your non-Citi Bank account.
You can also make bill payments by cheque or cash deposit at branch. You will receive an alert message on your registered mobile number, on receipt of the cheque and credit of the payment. For cash deposits, maximum amount permitted is Rs. 50,000 and a fee of Rs. 250 per deposit is applicable. Please click here to view the list of Citi branches. Depending on your mode of payment, there can be different reasons for why your payment did not go through.
For e.g. in the case of cheque payment, it can be a discrepancy in:
There can be other financial reasons like insufficient funds in your account, account being inactive, dormant or closed.
If your bank account has been debited but the success page with the transaction reference number is not displayed, you should contact your Bank to check if the transaction was successfully processed.
If your payment still does not reflect, contact Citi.
To avoid any late payment or interest charges, you should pay the amount in full on or before the due date. This will save you from paying any interest charges or late fees.
At the very minimum, you should pay the Minimum Amount Due before or on the due date to avoid any late payment charges. Non-payment of even the Minimum Amount Due will be reported in the monthly submissions to the credit bureaus, authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and may lead to disruption in credit card services.
