Convenient access to your account information, cash withdrawals and for payment of your purchases.
Your Rupee Checking Account comes with a chip based, PIN enabled Debit Card that allows you to access your account information at any Citibank or Mastercard® ATM.
If you have a Non-Resident External (NRE) and a Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) Rupee Checking Accounts, you will receive one Debit Card and an ATM Personal Identification Number (PIN) for each of these accounts. If you have multiple account holder on the account, each account holder will receive a Debit Card and an ATM PIN.
You can use your Debit Card for your NRE Rupee Checking Account to access your account, withdraw cash or to pay for purchases at select Mastercard establishments around the world or for online purchases.
With the Debit Card for your NRE Rupee Checking Account, you can withdraw cash in local currency at any ATM globally that displays these signs:
You can use your Debit Card for your NRO Rupee Checking Account to access your account, withdraw cash or to pay for purchases at select Mastercard establishments in India or for online purchases.
With the Debit Card for your NRE Rupee Checking Account, you can withdraw cash in Indian Rupees at any ATM in India that displays these signs:

Please Note:
- If you do not use your Debit Card for your NRE Rupee Checking Account overseas at any ATM, Point of Sale or Online, the default limit is set at the equivalent of $2500 per financial year. If you would like to increase this limit, please send us a secure mail using the Mail Box option after you login to your account. You can also increase this limit by calling 24-hour CitiPhone.
- The Maximum Daily Limit mentioned above is an aggregate limit across Cash Withdrawals at ATMs, Point-of-Sale Purchases and Online purchases.
- The bank that operates the ATM may also impose additional limits for each cash withdrawal.
- All Cash Withdrawals overseas will also be subject to foreign exchange conversion from India Rupees to the Local Currency
- The bank that operates the ATM may charge you a fee for Cash Withdrawal and other services.
- If your existing Debit Card is not a Chip Based Card, we will automatically issue you a new Chip and PIN Based Card upon renewal.
